How many people will be there?

Auction Top 50 Grouping 2

Currently, we are slated for 321 guests. If you’re not yet one of them, you can still register for the event until Thursday, 4/9.

What is this mobile bidding about?

This is the 1st year Valley Christian will be using mobile bidding, in which our entire silent auction will be done via your phone or tablet. One of the many benefits of doing this is that the silent auction is open for a full week… in fact, it’s open NOW!

Whether or not you are registered for Friday night’s event, if you’d like to participate in the silent auction, you must register your cell phone at this site. Once you register your device, you will receive a link on your cell phone. If you have a smart phone, you are able to bid by clicking the link and using our easy-to-use auction site. If you do not have a smart phone, you may browse the items online or at the event, and may bid using simple text messaging or via a GiveSmart professional at the event.

How should couples bid during the silent auction?

You have 3 great options – choose whichever is best for you!

  1. Register both phones. You can each bid on items independently – just make sure you’re not bidding each other up!
  2. Register just one phone. Work together this week and Friday night, and bid using just one device.
  3. Register just one phone, but share the link with your spouse so you can both bid with the same “account.” This is the option Kim and I are using, and it works great if you are just a tad tech-savvy.
  • Register one phone. After registering, you’ll receive a unique link to begin bidding. Open up the link and make sure you’re ready to start bidding. Copy and share that unique-to-you link with your spouse, and you’ll both be bidding on the same “account,” meaning you can’t bid each other up, and you can both see what you’ve been bidding on. Note that only the original phone will receive text alerts when you’ve been outbid.

Will hors-d’oeuvres be served?
Yes! Appetizers will be available at 6pm, including deep fried cheese with marinara sauced, BBQ meatballs, marinated vegetable kabobs, tortilla chips and salsa, and tortilla chips and guacamole.

What if my phone starts to die Friday night?
We’ll have just about every charger imaginable available for you to charge your phone. We’ll also have GiveSmart professionals available to post bids on your behalf, whether you have a device or not! We DO recommend you bring a half or fully charged phone, though, if possible.

What am I supposed to wear?
We invite all of our guests to join us in “Smart Casual” attire.

For men… a nice pair of jeans or khaki pants with a collar will work. Dressier is fine, of course, but there won’t be many of us in ties.

For ladies… jeans or pants, plus a simple top or sweater works great. As long as you’re not dressed to run a marathon or binge-watch a show on Netflix, you’ll fit right in.

What are the Live Items?
I’m glad you asked! While you won’t be able to bid on them until Friday night, you can preview all of the Live Auction items online at the full registration site. Unfortunately, you cannot see the Live Auction items on the mobile bidding site.

Where should I park?
There is limited parking at the top of the butte that Rustler’s Rooste sits on. If you’re not going to be early, plan to park at the bottom of the hill. But don’t worry – Rustler’s Rooste provides a free shuttle service to the front door.

We do recommend you carpool Friday night. We have a big crowd, so plan accordingly. If you’re not early, prepare to do a little bit of walking. Although trust us – it’ll all be worth it!

What time does the event end?
We plan to wrap up the programming at 9:30pm.

Is there assigned seating?
Nope! Unless you are at one of our sponsored tables, you can sit wherever you’d like!
