Valley Christian girls soccer dominated the All-Academic Team in 2015. Of the 30 girls selected to the Sports360AZ Arizona All-Academic 1st Team and honorable mention, 14 were from Valley Christian. The 14 selections were by far the most of any school.
“This group of girls truly defined what it meant to be a student-athlete. They are extremely successful in the classroom and found great success on the field as well,” Athletic Director Greg Haagsma stated.
Seniors Ashleigh Lawton and Lona Fitzgerald were among the 11 individuals from across the state to earn First Team honors. The entire First Team had GPA’s at or above a 4.0. Sophia Ames, Gracie Bare, Hannah Best, Audrey Brown, Madeline Brown, Skylar Cavanaugh, Ashlynn Gross, Clair Henry, Lindsay Laulis, Sidney Maxwell, Nicole Miller and Keara Schromm all earned All-Academic honorable mention honors.
The All-Academic Team is based on nominations from coaches, athletic directors and members of the high school soccer community. The team weighs on-field performance with success in the classroom.
