Valley Christian’s Greg Haagsma has been named as a finalist for the Arizona Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association’s 2A Athletic Director of the Year.
Haagsma has been teaching at VCHS for 24 years and has served as the athletic director for the past three years. In 2013-14, he oversaw the most successful athletic year in school history. He has also implemented the athletic program’s Character Matters program for all of its coaches and student-athletes.
Haagsma and his wife, Myrna, have been married for 26 years. Their son Brandon ’14 graduated from VCHS last year. Their daughter Taylor ’16 is a junior at VCHS and their youngest son Shane ’20 is currently in seventh grade.
