VCHS-Girls-in-GrassChandler, Ariz. — Valley Christian High School in Chandler, Arizona was ranked among the top 50 Christian high schools in the country, according to The Best Schools (TBS), which recently released its annual ranking of top Christian high schools in the United States.

According to the authors of the rankings, “a parent cannot go wrong with Valley Christian High School. From athletic programs and social clubs to requirements for community service, VCHS prepares children for life as a Christian in the working world. Whether students are college-oriented or not, there is a place for each child at VCHS.”

Valley Christian is the only Arizona school to be named to the list. Among the top 50 Christian schools in the United States named to the list, VCHS is one of only 12 schools located in the West.

“God has blessed Valley Christian immensely,” Valley Christian Principal Dan Kuiper commented. “This is a testament to the diligence of our entire community and their continued commitment to and pursuit of excellence.”

In determining their list, the TBS editorial panel measured academic excellence, extracurricular richness, geographic and demographic diversity and purposeful Christian faith. The panel took into account reviews by parents and students and placed a high value not just on academic excellence, but on schools holding faith at the center.

TBS states that the list, “attempts to capture what is best and paramount for Christian high school education in America.”

Valley Christian High School opened in 1982 and serves students in grades 9 through 12. Over the last five years, 97% of students go on to higher education after graduation. VCHS graduates in the class of 2014 earned an average of $40,797 in college scholarships. More than 80% of families received financial aid last year to attend Valley Christian.

Valley Christian was the 2014 recipient of the AIA’s Overall Excellence Award taking into account success of athletic and extra-curricular programs. It marks the seventh-time the school has received the award.
