Trojan volleyball cleaned up the Section awards for 2014. Senior Ashley Harrison was named Section Player of the Year and head coach Ali Gentry earned Coach of the Year honors. Harrison was joined by senior Alyssa Braun on the Section 1st Team. Freshman Courtney Dyer and senior Sierra Dennis earned 2nd Team honors and sophomore Hailey Barnum, senior Natalie Denk and senior Brooke Rigler were honorable mention.
Braun and Harrison also were named to the Arizona Republic’s All-State D-IV 1st Team while Dyer and Rigler were honorable mentions.
With the AIA All-Division teams still being voted on by the state’s coaches and the East Valley Tribune yet to come out with their All-Tribune team, Valley Christian volleyball looks to add more postseason honors in the upcoming weeks.
