Elijah  is a native of southern New Jersey but grew up in Central Florida. He is a product of Christian education on the K-12 and post secondary levels and counts it a privilege to contribute to the educational system that had such an impact on his intellectual and spiritual formation. He holds certifications from the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) in Bible, Social Studies and K-12 Administration. He also holds College Board certifications for AP Government, AP European History and AP United States History.

He began his teaching career at an esteemed dual language Christian school (King’s Christian School) in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. For the last ten years, Elijah has taught a variety of subjects from Bible and English to Spanish and Social Sciences in Christian schools throughout the Dominican Republic, Florida, South Carolina, North Carolina and Arizona.

Having served the Lord both in both short-term and long-term capacities in Venezuela, Colombia, Kenya, Netherlands Antilles, Malawi, Mexico, Cape Verde and the Dominican Republic, Elijah desires to encourage students to be inquisitive about the people, culture, societies and nations that God seeks to redeem, and to explore the character of God as revealed in other academic disciplines. Throughout his adolescent and adult life, he has faithfully served his local church mainly in the areas of teaching, discipleship, prayer ministry, planning, and administration.

Elijah is married to his wife, Jessica Marie, and they have three young children Jeshua Emanuel, Joya Mae and Jorah Mielle. His family enjoys exploring the great cities of the United States, immersing themselves in foreign cultures, and connecting with good friends and family. He is looking forward to taking the family’s first international trip together in the next year or two.

Elijah is returning to Valley Christian after two years of serving on the History and Spanish faculty at a Christian school in Charlotte, North Carolina. He joins the Bible faculty and is enthusiastic about helping students explore the fundamentals of the Christian faith as well as the immutable attributes of God as revealed in the Word of God.
