Russell grew up in Arizona and has been a believer since his late teens. He received a bachelor of science in political science with a minor in religious studies from Arizona State University in 2009, focusing my studies on American government and political philosophy. In 2012, he completed a Masters of Public Administration with a concentration in nonprofit administration and management, also from Arizona State.

Russell currently serves as the social studies department chair at Valley Christian High School, where he also teaches introduction to macroeconomics, American national government, and history of American music. In addition to my duties at Valley Christian, Russell serves as adjunct professor of philosophy and political science at South Mountain Community College and adjunct professor of political science at Rio Salado College. Prior to coming to Valley, he taught at Teleos Preparatory Academy, which is one of the Great Hearts Academies. When he is not teaching, he enjoys spending time with his family, gardening, record collecting, and hiking.
